Sam van Dalen, Founder, BORDEAUX JE T'AIME

Samantha knows Bordeaux and St. Emilion very well; her love affair began in 1983 when she enrolled at the University of Bordeaux III. After graduating in 1987 Samantha began a long career working internationally for global companies, Toyota and British American Tobacco before settling in London where she worked in property running her own company and managing a small art business. Despite the passage of time, Samantha's heart never left Bordeaux or the cobbled streets of St. Emilion. France, the French language, wine and food have always been the great loves of Samantha's life. An accomplished cook and bon viveur, Samantha enjoys entertaining, writing and walking for miles and miles. Samantha is a published author and writes a regular column for The Huffington Post.

Samantha decided to found BORDEAUX JE T'AIME after going on a number of tours as a paying customer in Bordeaux and St. Emilion. Very often if not always, the standard of the tours was good enough but what was promised such as a gourmet lunch, was not delivered. Samantha heard the remarks made by other customers who like her were professionals expecting a worthwhile experience but instead felt shortchanged. Determined to offer the type of tour that would a) provide an unforgettable experience whilst being informative b) be a lot of FUN and c) provide a starting point to continue to explore French culture in all its glory. Who better to guide such a tour than Samantha herself who is fluent in French and English and completely in love with France.
